President Hakainde Hichilema has urged citizens of Malawi and Zambia to maintain high standards of hygiene to protect themselves from the cholera epidemic.
President Hichilema has also called on Ministries of Health of Zambia and Malawi to collaborate in fighting the epidemic.
The Head of State was speaking at St. Annie’s Cathedral in Chipata at the consecration of the Auxiliary Bishop Gabriel Msipu Phiri.
And Chieftainess Kawaza of the Chewa People in Katete District has called on the Ministry of Health to assist her Chiefdom with chlorine.
She says the water table in Katete is high hence boreholes and wells need the chemical to rid it of the possible contamination of the water sources.
