President Hakainde Hichilema has revealed plans to empower the 2024 Paris Olympic Games Bronze Medalist Muzala Samukonga with expert training in the United States of America.
This follows Samukonga’s achievement of winning Zambia’s first Olympic medal since 1996, after coming out third in the final 400m race at the 2024 edition.
Speaking at a presser, Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu who delivered the President’s message, says this follows the concern that there could be something missing to propel him to even higher heights.
The President believes that competing in the USA with top athletes will foster great improvement in his craft.
Meanwhile, Nkandu says all athletes who qualified to the Olympics must be celebrated for their mere participation as it is a great achievement.
