PRESIDENT HICHILEMA LAUDS IMF SUPPORT

Republican President Hakainde Hichilema has called on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to continue its support in supporting to Zambias economic reform programmes.

Speaking when IMF Deputy Managing Director Nigel Clarke paid him a courtesy call at state house, President Hichilema says Zambia would not want to negate the gains made so far in stabilizing the economy and implementing reforms.

The head of state has emphasized that government is committed to preserving the progress achieved over the past three years.

Meanwhile Deputy Managing Director Nigel Clarke has praised the strides Zambia has made, despite facing multiple economic shocks.

Mr. Clarke has discribes the progress as a clear demonstration of the country’s resilience, stressing the importance of continuing the reform efforts into the future.
