Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Jack Mwiimbu says police is investigating cases of sodomy allegedly being sponsored by some political parties, pressure groups and the media.
And Mr. Mwimbu says some political parties have hijacked the agenda so as to induce negative sentiments on the Zambian Human Rights record for donors to be compelled to withhold aid.
Speaking at a media briefing, Mr. Mwimbu adds that the wearing of skirts by some men does not entail that they are gay.
Mr. Mwiimbu who has challenged those with evidence of homosexuality to report to law enforcement agencies says law enforcers cannot prosecute someone for practicing homosexuality based on how they dress.
Lately Zambia has recorded a growing number of sodomy cases, a matter that has raised public concern.
