POLICE SEIZE COPPER, VEHICLES IN CHILILABOMBWE OPERATION

Police in Chililabombwe have recovered various items suspected to have been involved in illegal activities, including two tipper trucks loaded with copper ore and 67 copper plates.

Other items recovered during the operation include four motorbikes, television sets, and assorted electronic appliances.

Chililabombwe District Police Commanding Officer Charlie Ngendwe confirmed the recoveries, stating that police have also impounded two trucks suspected to have been used in illegal copper dealings.

He added that several motorbikes were seized due to traffic violations and lack of registration.

Meanwhile, Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer Mwala Yuyi warned that police in the district and across the province will not tolerate lawlessness, particularly activities linked to illegal copper trading.

Mr. Yuyi emphasized that police operations to curb crime and protect national resources will continue, and that offenders will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
