Police in Lusaka have arrested nine suspects commonly known as junkies who have been terrorizing people around Arcades area.
Lusaka Police Commissioner Creto Kaanza confirmed the arrest to Diamond News saying the suspects are in police custody waiting for identification by members of the public who were attacked.
Mr. Kaanza says the suspects may be connected to the murder case of 25-year-old Oscar Masaiti, a student at Levy Mwanawasa University which is currently under investigation.
Meanwhile, Police Deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale says a manhunt for the 21 suspects who escaped during the raid has been launched.
Mr. Mwale has since cautioned students and members of the public around Arcades Mall, the University of Zambia, and surrounding areas to report any suspicious activities.
