The Zambia Police have picked the former government workers who went to President Hakainde Hichilema’s residence with hopes of being addressed by the President over their benefits.

The retirees are currently at Woodlands Police station where they are being questioned by police.

The former government workers volunteered to leave the public service after the government promised to pay them benefits under the World Bank.

For over 20 years they have been pursuing their benefits to no avail.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says his office will issue a statement later over the matter.
