A Zambia Police Anti-Smuggling Team in Ndola has impounded a light truck Benz registration number AAM 7636 loaded with two hundred and one (201) 25kg bags of mealie meal destined for Congo DR.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba says the truck was intercepted in Chiwala area and the driver together with other passengers scampered out of the vehicle after noticing the Anti-Smuggling Patrol Team.

Mr. Mweemba adds that elsewhere, Police at Masala Station impounded a Scania light truck Registration number AJE 3655 laden with 400 bags suspected to be heading to DRC.

Two suspects have been detained for the subject offence, namely Emmanuel Kunda aged 40 of house No. 3020 and Evelyn Nachela of house No. 3020, both from Kabushi Township in Ndola on the Copperbelt.
