The Zambia Police Service has charged and arrested former President Edgar Lungu’s Political Advisor and Tonse Alliance National Coordinator Dr. Chris Zumani Zimba for allegedly publishing a false article against Tonse Alliance Chairperson Given Lubinda.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says Dr. Zimba has been charged and arrested for the offences of Prohibition of Identity-Related Crimes and Prohibition of Harassment, Humiliation, contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Mr. Hamoonga says Dr. Zimba, who is currently in Police custody waiting for the court appearance, reported himself to Woodlands Police Station on November 04, 2025, at 16:30 hours following a police summon after Mr. Lubinda reported the matter of October 09, 2025.
Mr. Hamoonga says the report was to the effect that on an unknown date in October 2025, Dr. Zimba published a false article on social media about him, contrary to the provisions of the Cyber Crimes Act No. 4 of 2025.
