The opposition Patriotic Front party scheduled protest against what they term ‘various issues allegedly not going well in the country’ has failed to take off.

Speaking during a briefing at Parliament building in Lusaka, Leader of Opposition, Brian Mundubile, has welcomed US Vice President Kamala Haris but maintained that Zambia is a Christian nation that does not support LGBTQ rights.

Mr. Mundubile also confirmed that PF wrote to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requesting for an audience with the US Vice President to share their perspective on what is happening in the country but have not been given a response.

On Thursday, the former ruling party vowed to go ahead with the planned protest stating that they were ready to put their lives on the line.
