The Patriotic Front (PF) has disowned resolutions allegedly made at a Tonse Alliance meeting where it has been suspended from the alliance describing the gathering as illegal and unauthorized
In a statement issued by PF President and Tonse Alliance Chairperson Given Lubinda, the party says the virtual meeting was irregularly convened by Alliance Co-Chairperson Professor Danny Pule at a time when PF and Alliance members were attending a sanctioned political rally in Chawama.
Mr. Lubinda says the meeting deliberately excluded key stakeholders and violated Alliance procedures, particularly on attempts to amend the Tonse Alliance Constitution through a virtual platform.
He has stressed that constitutional
amendments can only be addressed at a physical meeting scheduled for January 20, 2026.
Mr. Lubinda has since declared all resolutions and documents arising from the meeting null and void, insisting the status quo in the Alliance remains unchanged.
Meanwhile, members have been urged to intensify campaigns ahead of the Chawama by-election on January 15.
