PATIENT ALLEGEDLY RAPED BY INTERN DOCTOR AT MAINA SOKO MEDICAL CENTRE
An intern male doctor at Maina Soko Medical Centre has been arrested for allegedly raping a patient on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. The shocking incident has sent ripples through the community, raising concerns about patient safety and trust in healthcare professionals.
In an official statement, Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary Maambo Hamaundu confirmed the arrest, stating that the Zambia Police were immediately alerted and acted swiftly to apprehend the suspect. Hamaundu emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that justice is served without delay.
Hospital management at Maina Soko Medical Centre has expressed deep concern and strongly condemned the alleged assault. They have assured the public that they are fully cooperating with the authorities and will not shield anyone found guilty of any wrongdoing.
The hospital has also reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all patients, promising to review and strengthen security measures where necessary.
