A medical report availed before the Lusaka High Court has revealed that James Mulenga, a suspect in the alleged abduction of Pamela Chisumpa and twelve others is not getting enough bed rest.
Last month, High Court Judge, Charles Kafunda had granted the suspect two weeks bed rest following findings by a health expert that the accused is not physically fit to stand trial.
Dr. Brian Sonkwe revealed that James Mulenga injured his spine when he attempted to escape from Mwembeshi Correctional Facility earlier this year.
In the latest report, Dr. Sonkwe notes that the suspect has been mobile and has not had strict bed rest as guided hence no progress has been made to necessitate recovery from the injury.
In this matter, James Mulenga is jointly charged with Mathew Sikaonga for the abduction of 13 women who they allegedly assaulted, raped and robbed last year.
