Former Zambia Security Intelligence Service Director General and Liberal Democrats Party presidential candidate, Xavier Chungu, has appeared before the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court.
Mr. Chungu was arrested on May 28, 2026, and is facing 11 charges, among them communication of certain information contrary to the State Security Act, seditious practices, and unlawful disclosure of information relating to a vital installation.
The charges arise from remarks allegedly made during a podcast appearance in New Kasama, Lusaka.
