A road accident has reportedly left one person dead and several others seriously injured after a vehicle carrying more than 60 youths from the Seventh-day Adventist Church lost control along the Mapatizya Road in Southern Province.
Although police have not yet issued an official statement, Mapatizya SDA Mission Secretary Charles Chikobela confirmed to Diamond News that the youths were returning from a church camp meeting on Sunday, September 7, 2025, when the accident occurred.
Mr. Chikobela explained that the canter they were traveling in is suspected to have lost control due to brake failure.
He further confirmed one fatality, adding that the injured are receiving treatment at various health facilities in the region.
