Copper Queens Head Coach Nora Häuptle has named her final 23-member squad for the 2026 Cosafa Women’s Championship in South Africa, with experienced defender Agness Musesa returning to the national team.
The squad blends seasoned players like Rachael Nachula, Kabanghe Mupopo and Hazel Nali with newcomers like Mercy Chipasula, Margaret Gondwe and goalkeeper Chishala Mufunte, among others, ahead of the Morocco 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Defending champions Zambia face Zimbabwe, Botswana and Eswatini in Group B, opening against Botswana on February 18 at Seshego Stadium in South Africa.
Zambia will be seeking a third consecutive regional title after winning in 2022 and 2024.
The tournament will run from February 18 to March 1 in Polokwane.
Meanwhile, some foreign-based players remain unavailable due to club commitments but are expected to join preparations for WAFCON in March.
