
The United Party for National Development (UPND) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting media self-regulation as the most effective and democratic approach to managing the media landscape.
Speaking during a press briefing, UPND Media Official Amos Chanda said self-regulation ensures the protection of freedom of expression and prevents political interference in media operations.
Meanwhile, UPND Media Director Mark Simuuwe reiterated President Hakainde Hichilema’s commitment to media self-regulation, as outlined in the party’s manifesto.
He emphasized the need for responsible journalism and added that the President remains steadfast in promoting a free but accountable media.
