The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has clarified that no province or district has, at this stage, been allocated any of the 70 proposed constituencies under the 2026 Delimitation Exercise.
ECZ Chairperson Mwangala Zaloumis says the process remains consultative in nature and that allocations have not yet been made.
Speaking in Kabwe, where the Central Province Provincial Delimitation sitting is being held, Ms. Zaloumis explained that the province, which comprises 11 districts — Chibombo, Chisamba, Chitambo, Kabwe, Kapiri-Mposhi, Luano, Mkushi, Mumbwa, Ngabwe, Serenje, and Shibuyunji — is the second to host consultations after Choma.
She was accompanied by ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Brown Kasaro and Commissioners Vincent Mukanda and Ndiyoyi Mutiti.
Eight more provinces are yet to hold their consultations.
