Zambian fashion brand Nkanda Yatu, founded in 2017 by Nkandu Kabaso, will make its first appearance on the Asian fashion and craft scene with a new collection of clothing and accessory bags that aim to highlight Zambian culture.
As a brand, our biggest priority has been to promote our culture through fashion and style at an international level, while also promoting local tourism and creativity. This enables the brand to compete in the international market.
As a result of the brand’s continuous expansion of its international work portfolio, Nkanda Yatu has garnered the attention of development agencies like Development Reimagined. Development Reimagined is the first Kenyan Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise in China and an independent international consultancy with headquarters in Beijing, China, and offices in Kenya and the UK.
Consequently, Nkanda Yatu has been invited to attend and participate in the China Market Entry Programme, which is part of the 2023 China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) organized by the Hunan Government. The event will take place from June 29th to July 2nd, 2023.
Furthermore, in partnership with the China-Africa Business Council (CABC), Development Reimagined will host a series of targeted in-person training sessions for the brand to fully leverage the opportunities provided by the 2023 CAETE. These sessions will focus on understanding the Chinese market and finding business partners, including importers, distributors, buyers, wholesalers, and investors. This segment of the China Market Entry Programme will be held in Beijing from July 3rd to July 6th, 2023.
Nkanda Yatu’s presence, products, and inspiration will greatly benefit these activities in China and all related Chinese stakeholder engagements.
