The Minister was speaking during the launch of HIV Testing, Counselling and Treatment- HTCT Day, themed “Invest in a Sustainable Future, Get Tested for HIV, Prevent HIV.”
Mr. Muchima said the country must intensify prevention and treatment efforts, especially targeting youth, women, and vulnerable groups.
He stressed that, HIV prevention is not only about treatment but also education, empowerment, safe practices, and ending stigma. He outlined government measures, including, expanding access to HIV testing through mobile units, community-based and workplace programs.
Mr. Muchima urged citizens to get tested, embrace prevention, support those living with HIV, and reject discrimination. He said Zambia remains committed to fast-tracking the end of AIDS by 2030.
