Ndozo Lodges proprietor Chrint Sichamba has asked the Lusaka Magistrates Court to compel the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) allow him to get some funds from one of his restricted bank accounts.

Mr. Sichamba, who is also former President Edgar Lungu’s associate, says this will enable him to obtain medical attention in Dubai.

In his preliminary application before Magistrate Irene Munyinya, Mr. Sichamba through one of his lawyers Willis Muhanga says his medical review is due and in the absence of his finances, he cannot access any medical attention.

But in response the state has argued saying the application by the defense is not attainable because the Lusaka Magistrates court has no jurisdiction to grant him such an application.

According to the state, such an application can only be heard by the Higher Court.

Mr. Sichamba has an impaired ability to focus and concentrate on issues.

He also has an impairment in attention, concentration, memory, language and problem solving, as a result of a stroke he suffered in 2019.

In the main matter, Mr.Sichamba, wife Nambela and son David are facing 130 corruption charges involving the acquisition of properties reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime.
