Ndola City Council has secured about 100 hectares of land for the establishment of an electric car battery plant.

Ndola City Council Public Relations Manager, Rebecca Mushota, says the council is now finalizing processes of finding alternative space for people who currently occupy the acquired land before works can commence.

Ndola District Commissioner Joseph Phiri says an estimated total number of 90 people will be relocated to pave the way for the car battery plant.

The Lithium Battery Company is a joint venture between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
