The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Central Province has temporarily suspended Nangoma Football Club from using its home ground following violence that broke out during their Week 22 FAZ Division One match against Forest Myooye Football Club at Kasalu Ground last weekend.
According to FAZ Central Province, the decision was made under Articles 51 and 53(4) of the 2021 Disciplinary Code. The association stated that the measure is intended to prevent further disturbances while the Disciplinary Committee investigates the matter.
As part of the precautionary measures, Nangoma FC will now play its home matches at ZAF Mumbwa Ground, home to Aeromachi Football Club. In addition, all matches will be played behind closed doors, with only registered players and club officials allowed entry into the stadium.
Furthermore, FAZ Central Province has directed the club to ensure adequate security is provided to protect visiting teams and match officials before, during, and after matches.
In a separate decision, FAZ has also temporarily banned Nangoma head coach Bruce Lumino from participating in any football-related activities within the province, following allegations by match officials that he contributed to the violence.
Meanwhile, the association has warned all teams that violence will not be tolerated and that strict action will be taken against anyone who breaks the rules.
