The police in Nakonde District of Muchinga Province Northern Zambia have arrested a 19-year-old woman in connection with the murder of her 26-year-old husband.
Gracious Sinkala was assaulted by his wife Astridah Namukonda using a stick on Saturday, September 30, 2023, during a marital dispute.
The facts of the matter are that on the material day at around 06:00 hours, the deceased sustained a deep cut on the left side of the head which led to severe bleeding after he was allegedly hit with a stick by his wife.
The victim was rushed to Waitwika Rural Clinic but was later referred to Nakonde District Hospital where he died.
Muchinga Police Commanding Officer Paul Achiume has confirmed to Diamond News that the suspect is in police custody awaiting a court appearance while the
body of the deceased has been deposited in the Nakonde District Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
