MWANDI COUNCIL ISSUES 30-DAY ULTIMATUM TO CDF LOAN DEFAULTERS

.

Mwandi Town Council has begun issuing warning letters to Constituency Development Fund (CDF) loan beneficiaries who have defaulted on repayments, as part of efforts to strengthen accountability in the use of public resources.

In a statement, the Council’s legal team said all defaulters have been given a 30-day ultimatum to settle their outstanding balances, warning that failure to comply could result in legal action.

Council Public Relations Officer, Abel Katembo, stressed that while CDF loans are intended to support local development initiatives and empower citizens, timely repayment is essential to sustain the programme.

The Council has since urged all beneficiaries to honour their obligations, reaffirming its commitment to supporting constituents while ensuring effective management of CDF resources.
