The Zambia Police Service has confirmed that former presidential candidate Brian Mundubile and lawyer Makebi Zulu have been placed in police custody after recording warn and caution statements in connection with an alleged offence of treason.
Police say the two were interviewed by investigators under Section 43(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi says investigations into the matter are continuing and that further details will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
