Motorists using the Ndola-Mufulira Road have bemoaned its prolonged poor state they say has become a deathtrap.

One of the concerned people, Mubanga Mumba, tells Diamond Media that ferrying of goods through the route to reach the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) via Sakania Border has become difficult.

Mr. Mumba adds by echoing his frustration that failure to work on the road for many years is a typical example of misplaced priorities by central government because many pronouncements in the past have not led to the rehabilitation of the international road that is now synonymous to a route heading to a neglected rural area.

He has since challenged state actors to rethink their priorities because the road has become busy since some drivers avoid the congestion at Kasumbalesa Border in preference for Sakania to easily reach the DRC.

Recently Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Augustine Kasongo disclosed that Avic International was the contractor selected to work on the Ndola-Mufulira road as well as rehabilitate infrustucture at Sakania Border.
