MOTHER WITH DIABETIC CHILD APPEALS FOR HELP

.

A 33-year-old mother of two from Lusaka’s Linda compound has appealed to well-wishers for support her with food and medicine for her eight-year-old son living with diabetes.

Nelia Maali says her son, Warren, was diagnosed at the age of five and requires a special diet along with daily insulin injections costing 260 kwacha which last only two weeks.

She explains that due to inadequate food, Warren often collapses and suffers seizures, limiting his ability to move freely.

Ms. Maali, who also cares for two other dependents, says her husband survives on piecework, making it difficult to meet the family’s needs.
