Morocco has been awarded the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations title after the CAF Appeal Board ruled that Senegal forfeited the final, with the result recorded as a 3-0 victory in favour of the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football.
The ruling, handed down on Tuesday, overturns an earlier CAF Disciplinary Board decision and finds that Senegal’s conduct during the final fell within the scope of Articles 82 and 84 of the AFCON Regulations.
The Appeal Board declared Morocco’s protest admissible, upheld the appeal, and set aside the previous disciplinary ruling handing the Atlas Lions the continental crown through a boardroom verdict
