Some political parties have successfully filed in Nominations for the forthcoming Mkushi local government by election slated for 4th November 2022.
The former PF Mkushi Town Council Chairperson Evans Bwalya was the first to file in his nomination at 09:00hours on the Socialist Party Ticket.
The United Party for National Development (UPND) have adopted for Melson Chilemu while the Patriotic Front (PF) settled for Mabvuto Nyirenda.
However, the process that begun peacefully turned violent when UPND and PF members clashed.
Meanwhile, in Mwense District of Luapula Province, four candidates have successfully filed their nominations to contest in the next month’s by-election.
The four candidates that were summoned are Able Mwewa of Socialist Party, Charles Mwelwa of PF, Chigomezyo Mkandawire of Leadership Movement and Stephen Chikonta of UPND.
