Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Jack Mwiimbu, has expressed ignorance on the three stars installed on the Inspector General of Police Lemmy Kajoba’s official motor vehicle.

Asked by Diamond News on the Ministry’s position on concerns raised by members of the public, Mr. Mwiimbu says he cannot comment on an issue he is not aware of.

He says the reason for his lack of knowledge on this is because he has been away for some time and he had just gotten back into office. The minister did not state precisely where he had been.

Social media has been awash following images of the Police Inspector General’s official Toyota Landcruiser bearing three stars on the front and rear.

However, a retired Zambia Army Major, Gershom Bwalya Mubanga, has challenged government over the matter that the insignia is a preserve of senior defense personnel whom Mr. Kajoba does not belong.

In a lengthy detailed letter, Major Mubanga has called for the police command to rescind its decision on what he terms as misplaced ranking of the police top cop.
