Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa has challenged his six-week suspension in the Constitutional Court.
Mr. Sampa argues that Patriotic Front (PF) acting President, Given Lubinda, alongside acting Secretary General ,Nickson Chilangwa, breached the party’s constitution when they made the decision without the approval of the Central Committee.
He contends that Mr. Lubinda should have declared interest before he held a press briefing because he is also after the PF presidency.
Mr. Sampa further wonders how the opposition party arrived at slapping him with such a punishment when the matter was not part of the agenda of that day.
The lawmaker has asked the court to declare the suspension null and void and for the two senior officials to relinquish their acting roles ahead of the General Conference.
