Measles has broken out in Chinsali District in Muchinga Province.
The district health office has confirmed four cases, including a six-month-old baby.
District Health Director, Kennedy Kabuswe, says the cases have been recorded in Choshi, Chandamali and Mulyangolo area.
Dr. Kabuswe says the health team has since activated surveillance and is urging parents to seek medical help once children exhibit symptoms, which include fever, facial rash, sores in the mouth, and eye infections.
Meanwhile, Chinsali Member of Parliament, Kalalwe Mukosa, has asked the Ministry of Health to ensure vaccination against the communicable disease before lives are lost.
