Despite the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) and millers discussing the reduction of mealie meal prices, the commodity has remained expensive in most retail outlets in the country.
In Livingstone, traders have maintained old prices of between K185 and K195 per 25kg bag of breakfast meal, citing high order prices from millers and old stock.
And In Mazabuka District, the cheapest bag of mealie meal stands at K178.99 ngwee, while in Mufulira a 25kg bag of breakfast meal is selling at K194.
