Former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has agreed to repay K560,000 to businessman James Kayula. The agreement comes after Mr. Kayula took legal action, claiming Mr. Lusambo defrauded him through a contractual arrangement involving the sale of two parcels of land located in Ngwerere and Meanwood Ibex in Lusaka. According to the court documents, Mr. Lusambo neither reimbursed the money nor relinquished possession of the land as per the agreement, prompting Mr. Kayula to seek legal redress. In response, Mr. Lusambo consented in court to repay the amount owed.
Separately, Mr. Lusambo faces additional legal issues. He is set to be transported to Luanshya, where he will be sentenced in an unrelated case involving the assault of two supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). This case adds to a series of legal challenges Lusambo has encountered, impacting his political and personal standing.
