Emboldened by Valentine’s Day, two Lusaka-based love birds, have exchanged their love vows and won’t let family come in their way of tying the knot because the fiancé is physically challenged.

Ian Banda, 30, a youth disability activist who is bound to a wheelchair is engaged to his 24-year-old fiancée but not yet married due to family concerns, despite them having a two-year old baby girl between them.

Ian cannot see himself without his fiancée, Agneta Mpiluka, and says he would move mountains to have a white wedding with her, even though some family members do not approve of their union.

The camera-shy Agneta vowed that she loved Ian and was looking forward to spending her life with him.

Meanwhile, Ian who is the founder of Youth in Action for Disability Inclusion of Zambia (YADIZ) has encouraged youths with a disability to fight for their love by being courageous enough and overlooking their physical disabilities lest they spend their lives single.

Valentines is a card, gift or message given to someone for the occasion of Valentine’s Day, a holiday on February 14 that is popularly observed as a day to celebrate love, especially by those in romantic relationships.
