Former President Edgar Lungu has dared the United Party for National Development government to lift his immunity so that he can eventually prove his innocence in the crimes he is suspected to have committed.

Mr. Lungu says he has been quiet for a long time and has been called names but has decided to break the silence following a visit by Drug Enforcement Commission-DEC officers who allegedly were misdirected to his house in Lusaka’s New Kasama over an unknown investigation.

The officers visited the property allegedly in a bid to establish its owner.

The former president made the remarks this afternoon when several Patriotic Front-PF Members of Parliament visited him at his residence as a show of solidarity over his alleged political persecution.
