A Handyman of Chama District Hospital has been arrested for theft of assorted medicines.
Brief facts are that Leonard Nfune, 35 an employee of Chama District Hospital collaborated with his friend Boyd Chileshe to steal medicines among them 30×12 Coartem tablets, a pack of paracetamol and a bottle of Gentamicin injections.
Other stolen medicines include Deplovera, 3×28 tablets of hormonal contraceptives and three disposable syringes which he sold to a local businessman at K360.
However, the Local businessman Justin Botha informed the hospital of the matter.
The two have since been arrested and charged with the offense of theft by public servant and police have instituted investigations.
This is according to a statement availed to Diamond News by Muchinga Province Police Commanding Officer, Kaunda Mubanga.
