Residents of Livingstone’s Maloni- Sakubita compound woke up to a rude shock after a night of heavy rains flooded the infamous bridge that connects them to the central business district.The high water current that submerged the broken bridge could not allow any residents to wade through it as they would risk being swept off into the crocodile infested stream.Two months ago, Livingstone Mayor Constance Muleabai told Diamond News that the sum of two point six million kwacha was released through Ministry of Lands to commence rehabilitation works.Sakubita bridge has remained defunct for over twenty years, cutting off residents from specilaised health facilities and secondary schools located across the stream in Linda Compound.
