Some Farmers whose names were verified and cleared to benefit from this year’s Farmers Input Support Programme in Livingstone have started depositing their cash contributions into their respective banks.

The Farmers who are expected to make a four hundred kwacha deposit as a member of an active registered cooperative will now await the collection of seed and fertilizer packs.

Farmer’s cooperative Society chairperson, Mathews Mbao, has confirmed that of the 800 Fertilizer packs received, his cooperative with a membership of over 300 has only been given 36 packs to share.

Mr. Mbao adds that the coming on board of the five new cooperatives has disadvantaged others who may not be lucky enough to get anything from the supplied stocks.
