A day after he was fired, former Inspector General of Police Lemmy Kajoba has thanked President Hakainde Hichilema for having given him an opportunity to serve the police service.
In a statement made released to the media, Mr Kajoba says he is grateful to the leadership and support he received during his tenure of office.
Mr. Kajoba adds it was an honor to have served under President Hichilema’s leadership as Commander in-Chief and extols the confidence the Head of State had placed in him.
Mr Kajoba has wished his successor Mr. Graphel Musamba and the entire police staff well in the dispensation of unwavering service to the nation.
On Friday, President Hakainde Hichilema relieved Lemmy Kajoba and his Deputy in-charge of Administration Doris Nayame and appointed Graphel Musamba and Alita Mbhawe respectively.
The high ranking reshuffle has sparked debate among social commentators as some seek details of what could have led to the changes.
Recently, before he was dropped, a somewhat charismatic Mr. Kajoba caused public uproar when three stars used in the military were placed on his official motor vehicle.
Due to a backlash, the stars were removed days later and to this day there has been no public statement why they were installed in the first place.
