LEADERSHIP MOVEMENT PRESIDENT CONDEMNS ARREST OF PARTY SUPPORTERS

Leadership Movement President Richard Silumbe has condemned the arrest of two party youths, Steven Nyendwa and James Shamuzili, who were detained for wearing the party’s regalia.

Speaking to the media at Mtendere Police Station, where the two are being held, Mr. Silumbe demanded their immediate release of his supporters.

He has described their arrest as a violation of democratic principles.

Police arrested the duo on October 14, 2025, for the offence of idle and disorderly conduct.

According to a statement issued by Zambia Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, the suspects were seen marching toward PHI Mall in Mtendere while carrying reddish flags and wearing white T-shirts inscribed with “Vote for Richard Silumbe for President 2026” around 18:00 hours.
