The Lusaka City Council – LCC – has seized hundreds of litres of locally brewed beer, including red wine, Kachasu and Tujilijili, in a crackdown on illicit alcohol across the city.
The operation, conducted in collaboration with the Zambia Police, targeted traders along Leopard’s Hill Road and State Lodge, as well as mobile money booth vendors selling unlicensed alcoholic beverages.
LCC Public Relations Manager Chola Mwamba says the council is committed to protecting residents from consuming uncertified and harmful beverages that pose serious health risks, adding that only safe and certified drinks should be sold in the city.
