Residents of Kuku Compound in Chawama Constituency have expressed satisfaction with the steady progress being made on the construction of the new Kuku Police Post.
Speaking to Diamond Tv , James Chileshe and Sepiso Kambimbe say the demolition of the former police post in 2024 was followed by a noticeable increase in criminal activities in the area. They believe the completion of the new facility will help restore law and order and curb rising misconduct.
Meanwhile, Nkoloma Ward One Councillor Davies Chembo has disclosed that the police post is expected to be officially commissioned within the next two weeks, shortly after the by-elections.
The construction of the new Kuku Police Post comes after the demolition of the previous structure, which had been erected on top of Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company infrastructure. Authorities noted that the earlier building posed a serious risk to the area’s water supply, prompting the decision to relocate and rebuild the facility.
