For over four years, Kalela Primary School in Kitwe’s Wusakile Constituency on the Copperbelt province has had no desks, leaving pupils and teachers with no option but to sit on the floor and on bricks.
This came to light last week when Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo visited the school during his Constituency Development Funds project inspections.
Today, the school with 2,500 pupils has received 120 desks out of the 450 desks, under Constituency Development Fund.
Speaking when he handed over the desks, Mr. Matambo said all schools in the province are in dire need of desks, hence urged teachers to be proactive and ensure the challenge is addressed.
