Kazungula Central Ward ruling United Party for National Development UPND Councilor Stanley Simukoko has resigned from his position.
Simukoko, who assumed office in 2021, has attributed his decision to alleged internal misunderstanding within the ruling party’s district structures. Although he could not specify the fights.
He has however declined to reveal his next political move or possible affiliation, stating that he will make his intentions known at an appropriate time.
Meanwhile the party has refuted internal fight accusations, saying all structures remain united.
District Chairperson Siasiloka Mukuni has wished the former councilor well in his political endeavor but maintains the ruling party remains undivided.
