Workers at the Katete Town Council are living in uncertainty as they await their salaries for the past five (5) months.
The affected employees have expressed frustration and worry over the non-payment of their salaries which has affected their livelihoods.
According to the affected employees who spoke to Diamond TV on unnormous condition due to fear of victimization, the council has been facing financial challenges leading to the delay in salary payments.
The workers have appealed to the council management and relevant authorities to intervene and ensure timely payment of their salaries as other workers are being evicted from there houses by landlords.
When contacted for a Comment, Katete Town Council Secretary Kate Mukonde confirmed that the workers have not been paid.
The Council Secretary disclosed that this has mainly affected new employed personnel which were sent by the Local Government Service Commission.
