Despite bilateral talks between the Zambian government and the Democratic Republic of Congo to end the protest by the international truckers, operations have remained grounded until they are assured of safety by the two governments.
A check by Diamond news this morning found hundreds of trucks marooned as the drivers have refused to enter DRC.
The drivers say they fear for their lives and feel the meeting which was held by the representatives from the two governments are not enough to guarantee them security.
And the Southern African Cross Border Trade Association of Zambia Secretary General, Jecob Makambwe says the two governments have ignored their plight for too long, hence the move.
