Nearly a year after the conjoined twins of Kasenengwa District in Eastern Province were discharged from hospital, government has allegedly failed to provide a social worker to assist in routine checks on the welfare of James and Joshua Phiri.

According to the mother of the infants, Stella Ziwa reveals the challenge of not having a wheelchair for mobility.

Ms. Ziwa adds that the challenge is compounded by the family’s financial incapacity to build a suitable house that fits the special needs of James and Joshua.

She has since appealed to well-wishers to assist her in raising funds to procure a wheelchair and basic needs such as clothes and food for the children that share a body.
