Residents of Kasama in Northern Province have expressed concern over Kasama Municipal Council’s failure to procure ZESCO units to power up streetlights in the streets of Kasama.

Francis Mwila says it is disappointing to note that Kasama Municipal Council has failed to procure ZESCO units at a time when crime levels have gone high, especially at night.

He says the local authority must work on modalities to make sure that the streetlights are always working as a way of mitigating crime levels at night.

Meanwhile, Kasama Municipal Council Assistant Public Relations Manager, Charity Chaiwila, says the local authority has started the procurement process of the units.
